Healthy Living Partners always need volunteers Special Olympics (ages 8 and older): Twelve sports and three seasons require helpers throughout the calendar year. Intellectually disabled persons are welcome to play and participate. Call 503-656-1811 for registration and information. There is no charge for these activities. Special Olympics receives no state or national funding but operates solely by the efforts of volunteers. Coaches, fundraisers and all kinds of helpers are needed for the ongoing success of the 250-plus Clackamas athletes.Special event or one-time volunteer opportunities arise frequently. NCPRD lists 20 possible locations and more than 100 different volunteer opportunities to capture the interest of anyone - ages 14 on up - willing to share some experience and expertise. From adopting a park to leading a group on a nature walk, from driving for Meals on Wheels to greeting customers and assisting at North Clackamas Aquatic Park, a job exists if you’re willing to serve. Coaching opportunities and the mandatory training to work with youth teams are coming up this fall.
