Clackamas County Parks Advisory Board is an eight-member volunteer board. Terms of members are four years, and the County often seeks volunteers to serve in that capacity. The Parks Advisory Board advises the County Board of Commissioners on all matters pertaining to County Park policy, management, development, acquisition and disposition of park property. Milwaukie Center/Community Advisory Board (C/CAB) is the primary advi- sory group to the Milwaukie Center staff and the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District Advisory Board. Openings are available on the board and on individual committees. The public is always welcome to attend meetings, which take place the second Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Milwaukie Center, 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Dr., Milwaukie. North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce Incorporated in 1955, the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce primarily serves the incorporated cities of Milwaukie, Gladstone, Happy Valley, Damascus and Johnson City, and the communities and areas of Oak Lodge, Sunnyside, Clackamas, Barton, Boring, Carver and the unincorporated parts of Clackamas County south of the Multnomah County line and north of the Clackamas River. The North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce is the Ultimate Business Resource in the North Clackamas area. With 600 member accounts the NCCCC can respond to almost any business need, from networking to consultants, from transportation issues to endorsements for business friendly political candidates. East Side Athletic Clubs is a locally owned and operated three facility organization. As recipient of Parent Magazine Award “Best Athletic Club for Families”, this full service resource for fitness and wellness focuses on quality. East Side offers multi-generational and multi-dimensional programming. They host the Kaiser Silver Sneaker program serving more than 2,000 local seniors, offer various kids and teen activities/camps, and are positioned for the 35-plus new or experienced exerciser. The organization was founded in 1977 and has provided services to the community in both Clackamas and Milwaukie for many years. East Side is heavily involved with Special Olympics, Doernbecher and numerous additional organizations locally.
